I just finished this sculpture titled “The Mind’s Eye 2″, it is carved out of obsidian (volcanic glass) from Mexico and it is illuminated with colored LED lights run on a continuous loop with seven colors. The sculpture is all one piece of obsidian and is about 14″ tall and 14″ wide. The iris is about 7” in diameter and it is polished to over 100,000 diamond polishing grit and the iris lens is only 1/8 of an inch thick. On the inside of the iris is where I carved the pyramid, the pyramid only shows up when the sculpture is lit.
